A Note from the Founder

Chançonette by Silvia Sommer was born in 2024 from a personal passion: the art of creating beautiful, natural soaps that care for the skin and uplift the senses. The name Chançonette—a special type of melody in French—was chosen because I believe a truly good soap, much like a melody, should gently caress your skin and elevate your mood.

As a local artisan and certified skincare formulator, I specialize in crafting cold process soaps using only natural ingredients—pure vegetable butters, botanical oils, essential oils, and mineral pigments. Each bar is handmade in Canton Zug, Switzerland, with a deep respect for both tradition and nature.

My focus goes beyond cleansing. Every soap is designed to deliver added benefits to the skin—whether soothing, nourishing, or rejuvenating. I carefully select ingredients that are known for their therapeutic properties, such as:

• Oatmeal – Calms and comforts sensitive or inflamed skin
• Activated Charcoal – Detoxifies and helps clear acne
• Calendula Petals – Reduces inflammation and soothes the skin
• Neem Oil – Eases dryness, itchiness, and eczema
• Salt – Gently exfoliates while detoxifying
• Coffee – Rich in antioxidants; smooths and revitalizes
• Honey – Naturally retains moisture, leaving skin soft and hydrated
• Beeswax – Protects and soothes even the most sensitive skin

My soaps are more than a product—they are a mindful ritual, made with love, intention, and a desire to bring a little everyday beauty into your life.
